The Waters has always held a special place in our hearts as my grandfather Ed Welch and my father Dale Walker were the original founders. Many of our life milestones are from right here. It is where we met, and where we started our family. Paula was the 3rd employee hired at The Waters and spent several years running the office before taking time to stay home and raise our four wonderful children: Avery (16), Hartley (13), Easton (10), and Darby (8). In fact, Paula released the first bass into Lake Cameron (named for my sister) when we first stocked it, after building The Chapel in 2007 we had the honor of being the first couple married there seventeen years ago.

We bought our first home in The Waters in 2007, where we lived for a few years before moving to our current home just several minutes away and is where we have lived for the past fourteen years. We have been involved with volunteering at Pike Road School, Pike Road Fire Department and coaching youth sports.

Tyler is an owner/broker at Mossy Oak Properties where we are deeply invested in Pike Road so we want to see our community, and Homestead Gym continues to be the special place it has grown to be.

We also want to take a moment to thank Josh Langham for the incredible work he has done with the gym since 2015. His dedication and hard work have made a lasting impact, and we are committed to continuing the wonderful job he started. We will build on the strong foundation he has set and will strive to enhance it to the fullest based on feedback from the members.

We are eager to bring our passion for this community into the gym and look forward to getting to see old friends and meet new ones. Whether you’re a long-time member or a new face, we want to ensure Homestead Gym remains a place where fitness, friendship, and community thrive. Our goal is to maintain the gym’s welcoming, neighborhood atmosphere and keep it a place where everyone feels at home.
